A thousand seas don't know the depth of it
A star knows not its height
A broken bone knows not its pain
and a deer in the head lights not it's fright
It lurks beneath the surface
and strikes when given the chance
it makes us our hearts grow weary
it takes away that dance
It causes doubt and wander
in the most faithful of us all
it makes wise men plunder
and the strong to fall
It is the nature of the human being
that in each of us does dwell
it hides with many masks
and it knows how to sell
We all fall short because of it
a selfish little thing
but when we are aware of it
We can jump for joy and sing
Because we know we are unworthy
of all the things from Jesus
Because we know he gave himself
To save each of us from us.
With His love we over come
the things of this world, that are so curved
because we accept His loving grace
Human nature, you just got served!
